How do I get a book that the Kean Library does not have (own)?
Books not owned by the Kean University Library may be requested from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan. You can access the online Interlibrary Loan form from the Kean University Library home page. Just click Interlibrary Loan toward the top of the screen, then select either Book Request Form or Book Chapter Request Form. Simply fill out the form, then click Submit.
Patrons will be notified by e-mail when Interlibrary Loan books are ready to be picked up at the Circulation Desk. Books will be due back to the Kean Library by the due date specified by the lending library. If you have requested a specific book chapter, then a photocopy of that chapter will be emailed to you.
Kean-Ocean patrons may use the Ocean County College interlibrary loan service to request books not owned by either the Kean or Ocean library.
Another option would be to borrow a book in person from another New Jersey academic library. Click the link below for VALE Reciprocal Borrowing Program for information about the program, access to the application form, and links to VALE member library catalogs.
