I need to access the Library databases, but I lost my Kean photo ID and the Library is closed today. Can I access the database without a barcode?

Answer

You no longer need your barcode to access the databases. Instead, you will use your Kean Google user name and password to login to Kean databases from off-campus.

If you are not able to login with your Kean Google user name and password to access the electronic resources, please check and possibly adjust the Internet security/firewall settings on your computer. Some users may find that they are not able to access library databases because of firewall restrictions on home or non-Kean workplace computers.

If you are still not able to access library databases by logging in with your Kean Google username and password, please contact the Office of Computer and Information Services at (908) 737-6000.

In the meantime, please try JerseyClicks. JerseyClicks features research databases provided by the New Jersey State Library. You will need a library barcode from your local New Jersey public library.

New York state residents may try NOVELny—the New York Online Virtual Electronic Library. You will need a New York State Driver Licence or Non-Driver Photo ID to login.

Pennsylvania state residents may try POWER Library. You will need a library barcode from your local Pennsylvania public library.

However, you will need to replace your Kean photo ID so that you may check books out from the Nancy Thompson Library and Learning Commons.

Kean Student ID Cards can be obtained by going to the ID Card Office located in the Office of Student Accounting on the 3rd floor of the Administration Building. Call the ID Card office at (908) 737-3240 for further information.
