Remote access to the databases is restricted to current students, faculty staff and administrators of Kean University as determined by our licensing agreements with our database vendors.  Alumni are welcome to come into the library to use the databases.  Most of our resources are available for use within the library.

In the meantime, please try JerseyClicks. JerseyClicks features research databases provided by the New Jersey State Library. You will need a library barcode from your local New Jersey public library.

New York state residents may try NOVELny—the New York Online Virtual Electronic Library. You will need a New York State Driver License or Non-Driver Photo ID to login.

Pennsylvania state residents may try POWER Library. You will need a library barcode from your local Pennsylvania public library.

Please note:  Kean alumni are eligible for borrowing privileges through the library.

In order to access alumni benefits, you need a Kean University Alumni Card, an Alumni Photo ID Card, and an Alumni Barcode.

"Alumni who wish to borrow books from the Nancy Thompson Library will need to obtain an Alumni Photo ID Card, available at no cost from the Photo ID Office, located within the Office of Student Accounting on the Union campus, Administration Building, 3rd floor. You must bring your current alumni card along with one other form of photo identification (driver’s license, Kean student ID) to receive your Alumni Photo ID Card. Please call the Photo ID Office at (908) 737-3240 if you have any questions."

Bring your Alumni Photo ID Card to the Circulation Desk and ask for an Alumni Barcode. The Circulation Desk is the first counter in the main library area adjacent to the front door.  If you have any questions, please call the Circulation Desk at (908) 737-4629.
