Senator Wynona Moore Lipman (1923-1999) was a pioneer among women in New Jersey politics. Senator Lipman was known for her public service and philanthropic efforts. The Lipman Center is also the first academic facility at Kean University named after an African American. The Wynona Moore Lipman Ethnic Studies Center is located on the second floor of the Nancy Thompson Library and Learning Commons.
