Listed below are several options for contacting a librarian for research assistance:

  • You can use the Learning Commons Support Chat service, which is available 24/7. Simply visit the Nancy Thompson Learning Commons website, then submit your question in the chat box located in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  • You can call (908) 737-4629 during Learning Commons service hours and ask to speak to a reference librarian.
  • You can schedule an online research consultation appointment with a Kean librarian:
    • Make an Appointment (Students) -- Click this link to access Navigate360, where students can click Schedule an Appointment, select Learning Support Services (as the Care Unit), select Nancy Thompson Learning Commons (as the Location), select Meet with a Librarian (as the Service), select a librarian from the list of available Organizers, then choose a Date and Time to meet.
    • Make an Appointment (Faculty and Staff) -- Click this link to access the Faculty Research Appointments page, where Kean faculty, staff, and administrators may click "make an appointment" next to the listed librarians and then select a date/time to meet.
  • You can submit a question via email. Please allow 48 hours for a reply if you are submitting a question on the weekend.
  • You can visit Ask a Librarian, where you can browse answers posted in our FAQ database and review other options for submitting your questions.

In addition, please visit our Research Guides, which provide links to recommended research resources for a wide variety of subject areas.
