Follow these steps to find books in the Nancy Thompson Learning Commons (NTLC):

  • Visit the Nancy Thompson Learning Commons website.
  • Locate the "Search WorldCat Discovery" box, enter your keywords in the search window, and select the "Books" tab.
  • Click "Search."
  • Browse the list of search results. Records for available items will indicate "Held by: Kean University Nancy Thompson Library" and will display access options such as:
    • View eBook (electronic book)
    • Available Nancy Thompson Library Main Collection (print book – note the call number)
    • Available Nancy Thompson Library Reference Collection (print book – note the call number)
    • Available Nancy Thompson Library Juvenile Collection (print book – note the call number)

  •  If you click "View eBook," you must log in using your Kean email username and password when prompted.
  • In the "Search Tools" column, you can check the box next to "Kean University Nancy Thompson Library" to limit your results to items held by our library. If you do not check this box, you may find items held by other libraries that are not available at Kean University. If you are interested in accessing any of these non-Kean items, click the book's title, then click the "Request Item through Interlibrary Loan" button, and complete the form.
  • If you need assistance navigating WorldCat Discovery, please visit the Access Services (Circulation) Desk, where a library staff member will be happy to help you.

Note: Main Collection books are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Nancy Thompson Learning Commons. If you need help finding a book, please ask a library staff member.
