Members of the Kean University community should be able to access Kean's library databases, ebooks, and other electronic resources from off campus by logging in (when prompted) with their Kean Google email username and password.

If you are not able to login, please complete the checklist provided below:

  1. Confirm that you are entering the username and password for your Kean Google email account (not a personal, non-Kean email account).

  2. Please make sure that you are typing your Kean Google username without "@kean.edu."

  3. Clear your browser history (including cookies).

  4. Try logging in from a different browser.

  5. If possible, try logging in from a different computer, tablet, or other device.

  6. Check and possibly adjust the Internet security/firewall settings on your computer. Some users may find that they are not able to access the Library's databases because of firewall restrictions on home or non-Kean workplace computers (for example, in K-12 schools or hospitals).

  7. Follow the steps provided by the Office of Computer and Information Services (OCIS) to reset your Kean Google email password. Please note that you may enter your existing password as the "new" password. Sometimes the process of resetting your password enables you to access the Library's databases from off campus.

If you complete the steps listed above and are still not able to access the Library's databases by logging in with your Kean Google username and password, please contact the Learning Commons at 908-737-4629, at learningcommons@kean.edu, or through the Chat window on the Learning Commons website.

In the meantime, please try JerseyClicks. JerseyClicks features research databases provided by the New Jersey State Library. You will need to login with a library barcode from your local New Jersey public library.

New York state residents may try NOVELny—the New York Online Virtual Electronic Library. You will need a New York State Driver License or Non-Driver Photo ID to login.

Pennsylvania state residents may try POWER Library. You will need to login with a library barcode from your local Pennsylvania public library.
